• Do you need to know the strengths and needs of your staff in ICT?
• Do you need accurate information for Performance Management targets?
• Can you ‘prove’ improvement of staff through your ICT training provision?
• Are you ready for an OFSTED inspection – able to show effective planning and implementation of staff development in ICT?
• Want to show ‘Value Added’ development of staff from a sound evidence base?
• Want to know ICT capability across all curriculum areas or departments?
• Need a proven way forward for creating a strong and dynamic school development plan in ICT?
The Teacher ICT Assessment Profile (TICTAP) has been used by schools across the UK to enable a strategic way forward in ICT planning and development.
The TICTAP is based on the National Curriculum 2000, QCA ICT units of study and NQT criteria for teacher training in the UK. (New KS3/4 ICT Curriculum 2003/2004)
Secondary schools can look at staff ICT capability across departments
There are Early Years, Key Stage 1 /2 and Key Stage 3 /4 TICTAP versions for you to choose from.
How does it work ?
The school receives a software program for data entry. The questionnaire for staff to complete is included with this package. Staff, teaching and non-teaching, complete the TICTAP which takes around seven minutes. Once the staff have completed the NEW digital questionnaire the TICTAP software does an analysis and an instant bench mark score and profile is created for each individua lstaff member.
The completed software is sent by e-mail to us for data comparison against Digital Edge’s national database. We return each persons national benchmark score; how their ICT capability compares nationally AND indicates priority INSET support for staff. You also get an overall institution score to help school development planning. The licence agreement allows you to use the TICTAP as often as you like !
What will it do for you and your school ?
Your staff ICT knowledge, skills and application will be analysed through our National Teacher Database providing a comparative measure. This will:
• Provide a detailed ‘whole school ICT profile’ at a glance to share with staff and governors.
• Provide a benchmark of ICT capability for each member of staff.
• Provide detailed staff training needs.
• Provide accurate Performance Management evidence for effective school improvement.
• Provide ‘value added’ data for tracking school improvement.
• Identifies INSET requirements for curriculum leaders to enable them to fulfil their role in integrating ICT across the school in their subject area. For example if your Literacy Co-ordinator has weak ICT skills how can they be expected to lead other staff in integrating ICT into good literacy practice? The TICTAP will clearly identify the persons training needs.
• Provide a graph of a ‘pupils’s likely journey’ through their classes, highlighting the ICT activities that they will experience without intervention.
